CURFEW is the short play that I later adapted - heavily - into the full length play PAST CURFEW.
CURFEW premiered at THE AMERICAN GLOBE THEATRE as part of the 13th ANNUAL SHORT PLAY FESTIVAL, and played at the Toronto INSPIRATO FESTIVAL just a couple of months later. I still think it's one of the best pieces I've ever written. Although the longer version delves more deeply into the relationship between this mother and daughter - and won the AOPW Award - I still feel the original short version manages to capture a lot of the essence, and distill it into an intense emotional experience. The long version is a roller coaster with loops and spins; this one just shoves you out a window... then snatches you back at the last moment.
