The One Booth Joint: Finale

November 2005

The One Booth Joint was probably the crowning achievement of The Coop Theatre Company - a serial play that ran for four years, and played to sold out houses for most of its run.

I met the Coop Theatre Company just as the play was coming to the end of its cycle, and was invited to be a co-writer on the finale episode. I joined co-creators of the series COREY SHANE LOVE and LUIS REYES, along with the O'Neill semi-finalist - and brilliant playwright - JOHN FRANK, graphic novelist and TV writer CHRISTINE BOYLAN, and playwright DARREL A. HOLMES for a madcap group-write that involved not only trying to create an appropriate ending to a four year long story, but keeping a delicate balance between six writers' egos while doing it!

The show was loved more by the audience than by the critics - but I was damn pleased with what I wrote, and I learned a lot about collaborative writing in the process!
