The world premiere of The Christmas Princess was on December 5th, 2005, at The Black Box Theatre in Santa Monica, California.

The show went very well, and also raised money for the Hollygrove Children's Orphanage. A good time and a good cause!

The play was inspired by the wonderful and talented CHRISTY BUCCHOLZ - who had been set to play a character called "The Christmas Princess" in a holiday episode of the Coop Theatre Company's long running serial play THE ONE BOOTH JOINT. Unfortunately, the character was cut. Fortunately, Christy lamented that she would never be a Christmas Princess loudly enough that I heard. The name inspired me, and triggered my personal love of fairy tales with deeper, darker meanings. Thus was "The Christmas Princess" born - and in true fairy tale fashion, with Christy herself in the title role.
